A Valentine’s Present for your husband

Last year I made a “Year ‘O Dates” for my husband.  I had intended to repost it earlier this year so people would have a fun idea to make for their husband, we’ve been enjoying them, when we remember them.  We actually have one coming up in a few days (provided no one’s sick, we’ve been the house of plague the last few weeks).

I used many of the ideas from Love Actually and adapted a few of my own to things we both enjoy (which I can’t share because that’s one of the ones we haven’t done yet).  I also saw The Home Teacher has a Date Night post up today.

I’m brainstorming some ideas for this year, it’s going to take some doing because it’s hard to top that one.  I have all sorts of ideas in my head, but haven’t been able to figure out exactly what to do for it.

What are ya’lls plans for Valentine’s Day?  Any fun suggestions?

PS: I’m tired of being sick or having people in my house sick.

  1. SO glad you posted about this again! Want to steal your idea for this year =)

Here's the most blogworthy thing I've done for V-day:

And Amen to your PS. Same problem here…

  2. Sickness has just started to hit our house, I hope it is quick and painless.

We don't even do anything for each other for Valentine's Day.

  3. Michael will be gone on a business trip for Valentines Day, so no grand plans here.

Sickness, isn't that something that happens all winter? Well, it seems to be that way here this year.

    I was sick last night…

I will put a tablecloth on the table and maybe some candles for a family dinner. That will likely be it for us. Derek isn't the biggest fan…

I'm off to check out your post from last year!

  5. Sorry you've been sick. We are not a V-day family – the biggest surprise usually is something new to eat.

  6. So sorry ya'll have been sick. Okay, I stole this idea from Pinterest and I hope to be able to work on it some today. I got a deck of cards and put pretty paper or construction paper on each card. Time-consuming, yes, but I hope it will be worth it. On the front of the box I am writing 52 Things I Want You To Know. On each card I am writing something different. I'll put the cards in the box and then give the box to him.

  7. I really hope that your family is well again now. Today was the first day in nearly two weeks where we went out… for fun! We have also been housebound with sickness.

What a thoughtful present to make – a year of dates. I love a gift that keeps on giving.

We were hoping to go to lunch on Valentine's day but my mum and dad (who were going to look after our cherubs) have now come down with our bug that we've had. They have been so helpful to us while the kids have been sick and looks like they have been repaid with a good dose of germs (not fair for them). We can do our valentine's day lunch any time so it doesn't matter at all. I think I'll do the ole “heart attack” in the children's rooms.
