Ezra and Nehemiah told in LEGOs

April 5, 2011 Ticia 6 Comments

Sometimes when we’re doing our Sunday School lessons at home, I like to be silly.  This particular time I decided to tell the entire story of Ezra and Nehemiah in Legos. Originally when I wrote this I couldn’t remember the name working with Nehemiah, so as I wrote this homeschool history lesson post I wrote “someone else,” which I shortened to SE, until I remembered the name (I’m leaving it in because it highly amuses me).

SE Ezra went to the king and said, “The temple in Jerusalem is broken down.  I ask permission to fix it.”

Not only did the king grant Ezra permission, but he offered to give them their supplies.

So, the Israelites set out to rebuild their temple.  They encountered many problems as they struggled to rebuild the temple and the walls (Nehemiah wanted to rebuild the walls and asked permission for that).

Nehemiah told the Israelites to carry weapons as they built and each person was assigned a specific part of the wall to rebuild.

And eventually the walls were rebuilt.

Yep, that’s it.  I think Ezra might be SE. Coming back and adding I am sure Ezra is SE after rereading our Mystery of History 1 (affiliate link) text.

Wanted a man who will stand up for what is right, even when everyone is saying he's wrong

I love the way Legos are a standard tool of learning in your house!

I have no idea about SE.

You could totally have your kiddos work for “The Brick Testament”…once they are “mature” enough for its content…(hee! hee!)
