We haven’t really ridden our bikes much this summer. It’s just hard to summon the umph to go out and bike ride when it’s over 100 degrees. Well, they cornered me, and I agree we could go for a “walk” around the circle (the other part of the street that forms a loop) when we got home after dinner. I thought by then it might have cooled off some, and only be in the 90s. Well, I was wrong. Boy was I wrong, but they held me to it.
So, they happily charged off around the circle. Batman wearing his boots, and Superman wearing socks and sandals. Who said 5 year olds have no fashion sense?
Meanwhile Princess followed along behind on her scooter, and I circled along trying to keep my balance on my bike at the snail’s pace we seemed to be going at.
I’m sorry, I meant we raced along full speed. Daring people to catch us. There was nothing slow about this.
And of course you must ride through the water sprinklers. I didn’t set a bad example at all by riding through it, and we didn’t have to go back and ride through it several times. Not at all………
Okay, maybe a little. But, it was over 100 freaking degrees at 8:30. Come on, have some pity man. And now the kids want me to turn on our sprinklers for us to run through them. Note to self learn how to turn on sprinklers.
Over 100 degrees! It was 37 degrees when the Man of the House left for work this morning. I think we're looking at a high in the 50's – no more running through sprinklers here this year…sigh.
Over 100 at 8:30?! I'm so glad we don't live in Texas…
I think we are sitting in the same situation as Leah! Not much bike riding done here this year, not due to it being too hot, but the opposite. I just keep hoping we can get one more year from her little bike before having to buy a bigger one.
I can't even imagine having temperatures that high at night. I could not survive in TX. Yikes!
Uggh. We spent a lot of time in the sprinklers in Georgia during the summer..
I love to be outdoors, but the month of August didn't entice me…in PA. I don't think I could ever live in the South…but since my husband hates the heat more than me, I don't think I need to worry much.
I know exactly what you mean about the weather. My poor little girl is going stir crazy being indoors so much but it is soo hot here (we live in Florida). But she actually got to go outside and be on the swingset today because there was a little breeze. I would have rode through the sprinklers too, that sounds like fun.
Fun!! Sprinklers are the BEST on after dinner walks and rides 🙂
The boys seem to be very good bike riders. We are yet to get a bike – daughter just now finally figured out her trike.
