Cardio for Christ

This post is rather tongue in cheek, but I’m tired this week from clubs, our church’s version of VBS, which is like a Bible lesson on steroids (Future Ticia 2022, my daughter tells me I make way too many drug jokes for someone who leads Bible studies, that may be true), and if anyone is wondering why I’m slow responding or haven’t been visiting your blogs.

Here’s why, I’ve invented a new exercise program: Cardio for Christ

It’s really exciting to try, and Cardio for Christ I’m sure will be a big hit and everyone will join in:

You won’t have any thighs left after that song. Get those squats in.

Or this one:

I just realized I put the wrong song title on that one, that’s actually God’s Not Dead.

There’s one more song, and each of these songs are about 5 minutes.  My thighs are killing me.  But what a work out.  So, I’m rather exhausted.

I love the discipleship opportunities

But, it’s a week for me to be proud of my kids as they lift things that are huge.

Putting up with unusual seating arrangements to transport materials.

Stretching themselves as they invite people to come.

All so that God’s name will be praised.

We have 8 clubs this year, 4 in the morning, and 4 in the evening.  The teens run the clubs, and the adults are the support staff.  They serve meals, set up the bouncy castles, watch preschoolers, register guests.  It’s amazing to see what God can do if you’re willing.  Last night one of our clubs had over 100 kids.  Our club had 50 or so kids, and this is its first year.  I love my church.

  1. This is pretty amazing. These teens will hopefully grow up to become wonderful parents like you are 🙂

    1. Awwww 🙂

  2. I would come, but the commute would kill me. 🙂

    1. Ha! That would be quite the commute, wouldn’t it?

  3. So cool!! Sounds like you guys are having a blast!!

    1. We did! I’m exhausted now. I warned the kids under no circumstances were we to be woken up this morning. They mostly did good with that.
