I’m sure it doesn’t surprise any of you that we’ve had some mud recently. Not after our flooding last week. Actually my kids have managed to find mud for a while, there’s a little bit after the sprinklers are done.
They started off making mud homes for the various insects and worms they’d found. Apparently insects like to live in mud structures attached to stone walls.
It progressed to mud sculptures on our outside table. Featured here are Princess’ mud castle, and Batman’s (though, it’s Superman’s shirt) mud creation. I may be wrong on that being Batman. Maybe.
Can you guess which Star Wars Clone Wars characters are modeled here?
Mud is great to play with! My kids have yet to experience proper mud – maybe I'll turn our garden into a temporary mud pit for them at the end of the growing season this year 🙂
Sadly my garden is a weed pit 🙂
Our backyard is slightly sloped, so it creates a small patch of mud whenever it gets watered because the water all runs down to there.
My kids want to come over!!! Do you ever worry that you mixed up your boys when they were babies and they think they are the wrong person? I know that is a crazy question!!!!!!!!!
You have no idea how paranoid I was about that when they were little. I'm not quite as paranoid about it now, but then…….. So, yes I do wonder that from time to time.
I actually wish my kids wanted to play in the mud more! My Tomboy girl loved to, but my boys do not. Go figure!
Thanks for linking up to Summer Learning and Fun.
It's hard to come by proper mud in our backyard – perhaps we will do some muddy place at my parents' place when we visit. Lovely mud sculptures!
