Childhood to do list: WATER FIGHT!

April 2, 2012 Ticia 5 Comments

Every child must have at least one water fight before they grow up.  The problem is I overthink it.

I start to think of all the things that could make the fight EPIC!  You know, it’s talked about for weeks.  But sometimes that’s not what your kids want or need.  They just want a chance to have fun.

Make your life simple, have a simple backyard water fight

simple water fight fill a bucketFill a large bucket (or cooler) full of water and sponges.  If you’re fancy make these from Inner Child Fun, what I originally bought the sponges for.  But you know what, the kids didn’t really care that they were just sponges.  Actually that made it a bit more fun because they were lots of comments that it’s just like what they wash dishes with.

Grab as many water filled sponges as you can.

Start throwing sponges as fast as you can.

have fun with a backyard water fight

You’re guaranteed to be told, “Did you know that you’re my best Mommy ever?”

Of course if you’re participating and trying to get pictures at the same time, that means you get lots of pictures like this:

And my favorite four pictures from the water fight:

because I like these pictures from the water fight

And after all is said and done, take some time to build with the sponges

It was a pretty awesome water fight, wasn’t it?  Even without lots of planning to start.
