Christmas memories 2013

Well, Sunday’s post was on making Christmas traditions, this post is going to be more of the random memories that made me smile.  I don’t really have a reason to share them other than I want to.

building Christmas traditions

We continued the grand trend of giving weapons to shoot at each other at our Christmas celebration.  This year they got a marshmallow bow, and so did Uncle Sean.  Gift-giving took a temporary halt as my brother started firing marshmallows at anyone sitting still.  The boys loved this.  So did the dogs at the house as they ran around eating the ammunition.  Princess did too.  It was quite hilarious.

Christmas memories

My nephew got stuck in a child chair and my brother rather than rescuing him took pictures of him with his phone.  My brother also nearly broke his foot running to get a picture of his son in the toilet…….. you know like a bath tub.  So, I thought it only right I take a picture of Sean taking a picture of his son….

Probably the most exciting moment was when my nephew tried his best to go headfirst off a top bunk.  Needless to say that did nothing for my SIL’s heart rate.

Christmas morning we headed up to my in-laws house.

The kids had a blast piling on whoever was sitting still.  Mainly their Dad or their cousin.  I felt for their cousin sometimes.

My absolute favorite picture from up in Dallas was the boys laying on Jeff.  This is a rather common occurrence in our house.  The boys think it’s hilarious to lay on top of Daddy, and then have their brother and sister pile on top of them.  I’m not quite sure why this is funny, but it is VERY funny.

As I’m looking at my favorite pictures, the things I see in common is spontaneity, and smiles.  Lots of smiles that captures who they are.  It makes me happy.

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas.  Our house still isn’t completely recovered, and I still have a bad cough from the flu I had before Christmas.  I’m hoping it goes away soon.  We’ll see.  Maybe.

Gosh, things aren’t dull in your house at Christmas are they? It must be fabulous to have a brother who joins in the fun so whole heartedly! You’re right, the post is full of smiles and love.
I hope 2014 holds much more of the same for you all!

    1. YEA!
Rarely dull, very very rarely dull.
My brother is like an over grown kid, which is probably why he’s such a great youth pastor.
