Daddy Daughter Date: Scavenger hunt

September 2, 2013 Ticia 12 Comments

Remember my Daddy Daughter Date night jar?

Daddy Daughter Date night

Well, Princess and Jeff went on their first date.  A Scavenger hunt.  Princess came up with 10 ideas, with some refinement from Jeff (he rejected grass and dirt as things to look for):

  1. bird
  2. deer
  3. lost friend
  4. flower
  5. cow
  6. statue
  7. duck
  8. swing
  9. lost friend
  10. bat

So, they ate dinner and headed out to find them all.  A few parks, a pet store, dinner, and a trip to a graveyard later, they’d found all of their pictures. I got to see the pictures both on her Kid-Tough Digital Camera {affiliate link} and on Jeff’s phone.

My favorite photo of the lot, aside from their pictures together, is this one of Princess at Sam’s gravesite.  We often talk about her Uncle Sam who died, and Jeff and Princess decided he counted as a lost friend.

Princess raved about their date night for weeks and was on cloud nine, and other crazy metaphors.  So, if your husband is at a loss for a Daddy Daughter date night, this would also work for father son date night, create a picture scavenger hunt.

Thanks! I love that picture too, it’s such a bittersweet picture. She went on her second “Daddy Daughter Date night” (it feels weird to just say date night) with him and they fed the ducks, and now she wants to take the whole family there.

Heartwarming! I love the image of them deciding on the list and then hunting down the items.

Very cool! I can’s see my daughter picking a graveyard as a destination for a date night though 🙂

I don’t know that’s quite what Princess was thinking when she wrote that one down, but she enjoyed the whole thing, and talked about it forever.

What a great father-daughter date night. The grave photo is heartrending.

I know what you mean, but it really was a great time for them, and they both enjoyed it so much.

This is a great idea, especially for the younger girls. I might steal this!
