Well, like I said in a post that may or may not have been published by now, this is what comes of writing posts on two different computers. I’m finishing up posting about our fun memory type posts, and this is our Easter one.
While I may have successfully used natural dyes with my friend from Latvia, when I attempted to do some on my own using spices I was SO not successful, so we dug out the usual dye kit and got to dying. The kids were quite happy.
Jeff showed them how to eat hard boiled eggs by dipping the end of it in salt. Princess was the only one who really ate a lot of it. The boys mainly used it as a salt delivery device and licked all of the salt off.
Easter Sunday we went to church and Princess showed us how she worships God. It was the cutest thing in the world to see her like that. I think this is one of my new favorite pictures of her.
Afterwards we went home and the kids helped stuff their Easter eggs. They firmly believed that was their job. I guess there will be no Easter bunny at this house. I have no problem with that.
The kids had a blast finding the eggs, I got way too many this year. I need to figure out the right ratio of eggs to kids, but everyone was happy, so it’s all good.
I”m not entirely sure Jeff would agree with me on that.
OH well…….
I LOVE that your kids helped stuff their own Easter eggs! My parents used to have us stuff our own stockings at Christmas, and we thought it was the coolest thing ever.
I'm working on the eggs-to-kids ratio thing, too. We had too many last year, and two per kid this year was a bit stingy…
We always have too many eggs and then my in-laws do an egg hunt after ours. It's crazy.
Have you ever done the Easter Bunny? It makes me think of the fact that on Easter we read the true story of Easter and Reagan asked where the bunnies and eggs were. I do question the bunny thing sometimes.
oh the too many egss dilemma, eggs from friends, family and the random egg hunts etc, it is an ongoing battle isn't it 🙂
Sounds like a wonderful and happy Easter!
~*Cute*~
Love Princess shot and both of her dresses. Salt delivery device would be very popular here 🙂
Your photos of your children on their Easter egg hunt are so sweet.
We also have way too much choccie in our house at the moment. I'm thinking we may need to melt some of our eggs and have a fondue and fruit platter!
My kids would not even taste the boiled eggs! I let them take the leftovers outside to the woods behind our house, and they had such fun throwing them against trees to smash them open. They actually spent a half hour outside playing with the eggs, peeling them, and squishing them!
