Florida Everglades

We’ve started our state studies back up with Florida, and I’m so excited to be going again.

Florida Everglades picture book

I found a wonderful picture book, Everglades, look at these illustrations.  It has a simplistic plot, but the real reason to use this book is the illustrations.

After reading it I asked them to draw all they saw in it using our watercolor pencils.

After happily coloring and drawing and painting for quite a while, the boys proudly showed me their work (Princess never quite got her project done to the standard of wanting her picture taken).

So I present two boys who are very proud of their Florida Everglades projects.

  3. What beautiful illustrations in that book! Some of the states I have had a pickle of time finding age appropriate books to use with the state studies. What storybook is the picture from in this post?

Their drawings are beautifully green – just like the Everglades!
