I have a couple of obvious ones for you, and then one that has been a recent hit with my kids:
Obvious Choice 1: Vacation Bible School
This is the first year my kids have been really into it, but they LOVED it and were begging to go every night, “Is it time yet? Can we go to clubs yet?”
Obvious Choice 2: Summer Camp
This is my kid’s first year to go to one, and they couldn’t wait to go every day (sorry for the picture quality, it’s my cell phone). They went to a sports sampler camp at the gym, and I spent those two hours happily ensconced at a nearby Chik Fil A drawing and coloring like crazy.
BIG PLUS to these activities, it results in this:
Not So Obvious Choice 3: Visit an RV showground
“What?” you say, wander around in the heat and look at RVs. “Yes,” I say. Your kids will think it’s so much fun to see these “houses on wheels.”
Who can argue with faces like that? Besides it’s fun for Jeff and I to talk about where we would travel in one, what would we do, etc…….
What fun activities have you done? Any great recommendations?
The last suggestion – about going to an RV showground – would be something that my daughters would have fun doing!
We went to a horse show back in April and there were horse trailers that had attached living quarters for people. The girls enjoyed going in them and checking them out…especially the upper-end ones that cost as much as a house. 🙂
My kids would love the RV showground ~ they would find it fascinating! We're getting ready for our VBS next week, and then camp the last week of July and first week of August. =)
My kids would LOVE to visit an RV showground. I don't see Mike going for it, but maybe I'll take them while he's on one of his countless business trips this summer…
I would have never thought of RV showground visit. Don't quite see Lars agreeing to it, but on the other hand, renting a RV is on our future list.
Thanks for hosting! I posted! Love all the great ideas!
Fun ideas.
C is at dinosaur camp all this week and so far he loves it.
