Fairy Tales are one of my favorite things, my bookshelves and my DVDs attest to this. I’ve got every Disney cartoon on DVD, and I have been lamenting the lack of The Little Mermaid on DVD since Princess was born.
The conversation would go something like this:
Me: You know what would be perfect to show Princess?
Random friend: What?
Me: Little Mermaid, but I can’t!
Random friend: Why not?
Me: It’s in the Disney Vault, and I don’t know how to break in there and steal it.
Random friend: Huh?
Okay, that conversation is completely made up, but I swear Peter Pan has come out on DVD 3 times since she’s been born (and I already have 2 different versions of it, and technically don’t need another one, even if it has super cool special features). But, Little Mermaid hasn’t, not a once.
UNTIL NOW! The Little Mermaid is now on Blue Ray and DVD.
And you lucky scurvy dogs, ARGH (it’s Talk Like a Pirate Day, had to throw in some pirate lingo), I”m giving away one to you, for US residents!

I’ve never seen it! I’ve wanted to see it with my 4 year old daughter (she hasn’t seen it either but she loves Ariel).
I was in high school. 🙂 How about you?
I *think* junior high?
I saw it in the theater when it first came out.
when I was about 8 I think. My dad rented a VHS of it
In high school or junior high, maybe? It’s always been my favorite Disney movie! Incidentally the old VHS cover played a large part in my husband and I getting together. The supposed genitalia in the castle got us talking, then one thing led to another, and now we’re living happily ever after. 😉
I first saw it when I was still a baby.
I do not remember exactly when I first saw the movie but it was with my Mother and Sister and we all loved it!
I don’t remember the first time I saw it, but I was just thinking about it the other day and tried to find it on Netflix (they don’t have it) I frequently quote the great songs though (A dinglehopper? I’ve got 20…) Classic Disney movie I’d love to own!
