Happy 17th Birthday Boys!
I swear this last year has FLOWN by! I don’t know quite how it happened, but you are 17 now. I think the younger years creep and the later years fly.
I may be incorrect on this, but it sure seems like that.

To both of you
I cannot describe how proud I am of both of you.
It’s a fairly regular occurrence to have a mom come up to me at park day and rave about how great you are with their younger kids. They talk about how you work to include even the youngest kids and how you make sure the games are fair.

I’ve had more than one mom tell me they hope their sons grow up to be like you.
We have one boy in our co-op who hopes to be like you when he grows up and organize nerf games for the kids there.
You drive off to park day without me on days where I think it’s too cold to go (which was most of January and February, I have a strict must be higher than my age in temperature).
Superman
You are my goofy twin. We are twins in goofiness and I love to see how you almost never lose your optimism. There’s some shakiness when you get really tired and all you can think is, “I want to sleep.”
I love to see how enthusiastic you are with younger kids. They all flock to you as you play with them and treat them exactly the same as you would someone your age.

I’ve also loved seeing you open up with kids your age, and make more friends at the youth group.
You have been excelling at work, and I’m so proud of you being named employee of the month. I’m curious to see if you do end up being made team lead.
And, I’d say I’m sorry for going through the drive-through last night just as you were getting off of work to sing happy birthday, but I’d be lying. 100% lying, because I loved doing that. Watching your reaction was awesome!
Batman
You’re my serious twin. I love the conversations I get with you, and how you think through everything.
Of course, you also can still be incredibly silly, and that can be fun as well.
I don’t love your random screaming, I’m not quite sure why you do that, to be honest.

You still love your hats, and have even picked up a couple of new hats, like that newsboy hat in the picture above.
You’re yelling at me it’s time to go for your birthday lunch, and I want to get this posted, so I’m gonna hopefully come back and write more about you later.
