Jesus heals a paralytic game
The kids and I read Jesus heals a paralytic story a year or so ago, but we had it at the clubs this week, and I had to share what the teens did to illustrate the story. I can picture this as a great Sunday School game.
It’s fairly simple, but effective way to illustrate the Jesus heals a paralytic story, and they did it on water day, so people already had towels handy.

Jesus heals a paralytic game supplies
(the teacher in me has to do this, it’s compulsive)
at least 3 kids, it works better with 5 kids (one for each corner, and one to lay down), Beach Towel* (I like this one because I could picture it in Bible times)
Jesus heals a paralytic game (or visual)
First she had one of the smaller teens lay down on the towel and had 4 kids try picking him up. They all agreed it was really hard. Next she had them try and pick up Princess (being one of the smallest there), and they agreed that was easier but still hard.
After that she went on to tell the story and explained they didn’t just carry him a little bit, but had to carry him for a LONG time…..
Turning this into a game for Sunday School.
Divide into teams and have the kids take turns carrying their friend through an obstacle course (walking around chairs, stepping over books, that sort of thing, nothing hard).
And then some of my favorite pictures from the week. This club was hosted by my Mom’s church, they meet in people’s front yards, and our neighbor down the street hosted one.
And of course you can’t neglect water day…..
My kids loved every single second of it.
And all that activity resulted in this:

Your kids look like they are having a blast, and I love the photo of Batman sleeping!
