Look at me, I’m starting this on the first week. Let’s see if I keep this up! Spoilers, I did not keep this up.

November week 1

We started off November watching Batman’s movie from September, yes we got that behind. He chose to read War Horse, but we said no way will we watch the movie again, so we watched Alvin York, which also takes place during WW1. Of course, its snacks were basically the same as for All Quiet on the Western Front.
Then I have a couple of interacting with dogs pictures, because they endlessly amuse me. Romeo decided to climb up on my shoulder and sit there for some strange reason. The absolute middle picture is the dogs cuddling with Superman, and the bottom right picture is Leezard cleaning the dish in the dishwasher, because that’s funny to me.
I finally got our dessert for Angola made, but I made it wrong. It was supposed to be this cool coconut candy, but it was… well, coconut soup. It was bad.
I couldn’t remember if I shared this in the October memories, but I wore my T-rex costume for church to direct traffic, and it very much amused people as they came in to church. I even had one child who came back to say “hi to the dinosaur.”
We’re studying Iraq right now, and our library had several books on the subject, and Superman volunteered to read one of the books, which greatly amused me.
And finally, last night I had my Awkward Unicorns over to watch movies, and what did they choose? That’s right, Veggietales, the children’s cartoon. They all had a blast and were happy, so it worked.
And I literally only got Week 1 done and then stopped, GO ME!
Week 2

This shows you just how behind I am, I could have sworn I’d already written these next two weeks, so here we go all the way back to week 2.
The boys had a kung fu demo team on the second Saturday of the month at a farmer’s market, and they did really well.
Okay, funny story time. I’ve been wanting a full freezer, and a friend recommended I look on FB marketplace. I thought, why not? I found this freezer up in Temple and the lady selling it wanted us to pick it up that day because she was selling her house the next day. So, we dropped everything, rented a trailer, drove up there, had all sorts of crazy trying to figure out how to get it loaded up. Got it all the way home, got the old refrigerator out (that’s the picture of Batman on top of the frig), and then discovered the new freezer doesn’t fit through the door, so we now have a garage freezer. I very quickly started filling it up.
We went on a field trip up to the Georgetown library, they had a special Anne Frank exhibit, and we got to hear a little more about the Secret Annex and who hid them and all that stuff. This worked perfectly because we’re reading The Diary of Anne Frank right now.
I finished my October block right before the cut-off for submission to get the extra hint.
And finally, we had our homeschool co-op Thanksgiving potluck. There’s a giant crowd of kids now. A few years ago there were about half the number of kids. It’s kind of crazy to think about.
Week 3

I think that big picture is actually from the boys’ kung fu demo show, but I for some reason put it here. The picture of the boys carrying Artist amuses me.
Halfway through the week, we went with The Artist to see a movie adaptation of The Reluctant Convert (linking to a film of the stage production). The stage play is a one-man show, but this was adapted to have people from his youth acting some scenes out. We thoroughly enjoyed it and everyone had a blast.
For The Artist’s birthday, we went to Ren Fest along with one of her friends. One of the sad things is I didn’t get any pictures with anyone for the day, except a picture with Jeff as we were walking out the door at the end of the day.
Week 4

That top left picture is Batman “sleeping” by the fireplace, it just cracked me up to see him like that. Then, there’s The Artist playing with Romeo.
We studied Iran and Iraq, technically we learned about Iran the second week and Iran the next, but I made the Iran meal this week, and the Iraq books were pulled out to get a picture before I returned it to the library.
We hosted Thanksgiving, and I think we’ve already finished off all of the leftovers. That’s what happens when you use the leftovers in about 3-4 different meals (we cooked a 22 pound turkey, it was awesome).
And that’s November.
