I don’t know about your kids, but my kids are very kinesthetic learners. They have to move and do things to learn something truly, so I’ve been obsessively collecting ideas for teaching them about the Bible, and in this post I’m sharing 100 ideas to teach kids the Old Testament.

Blogs that write only about the Bible
To start off I want to share with you a few blogs I follow and websites I consult fairly regularly.

- Auntie’s Bible Lessons– She shares a story and a printable for their lesson that week
- Explore and Express– This blog is about Godly Play and the hows and whys behind the philosophy of teaching. It gives me inspiration.
- Sunday School Craft Corner– I do not think it’s being updated anymore, but there are some wonderful crafts there for many stories.
- Church House Crafts– a well-organized site with many different styles of crafts
- Bible Class Creations– this is probably my go-to site for getting ideas. She is designing some wonderful stuff for her Sunday School class
- Faith Kids Sunday School Bible Bytes– more ideas and crafts
- Bible Fun for Kids– story reference, visuals she used and ideas all in one place
- Catholic Toolbox– tons of wonderful ideas, especially if you’re Catholic
- Flame Creative Children’s Ministry– so many printable crafts
- Thinking Kids Blog– Not solely Bible ideas, but it’s amazing

- Bible Creation Eggs– put the days of creation in order in an egg carton
- Adam and Eve file folder game– in the shape of a snake, how cute is that?
- Cain and Abel– forgiveness craft
- Noah’s Family tree– a great way to make Genesis 5 relevant to kids
- Noah’s Ark– make a boat to act it out
- Tower of Babel– retell it with blocks and toys
- Calling of Abraham– number the stars ring
- Abraham and Lot-how to teach Sodom and Gomorrah to kids
- Sacrifice of Isaac– scroll down a little so MANY other ideas
- Marriage of Isaac and Rebekah– because puppets are fun
- Jacob and Esau– make dolls of them to compare
- Jacob’s Ladder dream– fun craft with printable

- Joshua and the Battle of Jericho-the song is in my head now, how about yours?
- Memorial stones– remember what God has done
- Gibeonites trick Joshua– activities, background info, it makes my teacher heart happy
- Taking the land of Israel– why do we care who got what land?
- Samson activity– are you the strongest?
- Gideon review game– I love any games I can bring in
- Deborah under the tree– it must be nice to sit in the shade
- Cycle of Apostasy– the danger of sin and how it pulls you in

- Gideon crafts and ideas– I wish she still posted, but I haven’t seen one in a while

- Hannah prays for a child– coloring sheets are always popular with my kids
- David is finally king lesson– because it needs to be “finally”

- David is anointed king– I had never thought of this before seeing it

- David and Bathsheba-yes, you can teach this lesson to kids

- Kings of Northern Israel– trading card game
- Elijah– following God in hard times
- Elisha helps a widow– some great activities and ideas involving oil
- Elijah rides a whirlwind– just the name alone is exciting
- King Josiah lesson– I love the example Josiah sets
- Kings of Judah– another set of trading cards
- Solomon builds a temple– build a mini temple
- Rehoboam and Jeroboam, Israel splits– try saying that 10 times fast
- Rehoboam’s folly– really those kings were foolish
- Josiah, good king of Judah– a young king who does well
- Solomon shares his wisdom through Proverbs– Proverbs is a hard one to teach to kids
- Elijah heals Namaan– a pop-up type of craft
- Solomon builds the temple– it is so much fun to build a model temple
- Solomon asks for wisdom– I always like the start of Solomon’s story
- Good King Hezekiah– a great lesson and reminder for me
- Esther, Purim food– it looks so yummy
- Rebuild Jerusalem’s walls for Nehemiah– My kids LOVED this
- Nehemiah coloring page– love the What’s in the Bible visuals
- Ezra and Nehemiah lesson– I really like Nehemiah, it’s a fun book
- Esther, God’s provision in our lives

- Daniel lapbook– I love lapbooks
- Daniel and the lion’s den– fun lion mask
- Draw Ezekiel’s monsters– I love the look on my kids’ faces as they pose here
- Fiery Furnace craft– paper bag crafts are so easy
- Daniel mini books– cutting AND pasting in one!
