Science Sunday: Anatomy ideas, even more

August 10, 2013 Ticia 5 Comments

Bother just hit publish instead of a different button, so here you go, not quite done……..  A day early.

Last week I shared with you over 30 anatomy ideas, but I got tired, and didn’t have the time/ability to finish my post with all of our plans for the year.  There’s more than 30 weeks in a school year, so I’ll need more than 30 ideas to keep us busy.  Here’s the rest of my anatomy ideas collection.

more anatomy ides to teach your kids about the body

Things we will be using through the entire study of anatomy:

{Amazon links are affiliate links, just being lazy about announcing for EACH one}

The Magic School Bus: A Journey into the Human Body– I picked this up on clearance at Barnes and Noble about 2 years ago (yes some things I plan that far ahead).  It has a great poster in it that’s about kid size, and several suggestions for hands on experiments.  If you’re not wanting to spend a year studying anatomy this could be the way to go for you.

The Magic School Bus: Human Body– I’m a big fan of Magic School Bus books, and they’ve got several on the human body, this is a generic one, which I’ll check if my library has, or half price books.

Exploring Creation with Human Anatomy and Physiology– We’ve been using Apologia for several years now, and it’s been working great for us.

Exploring Creation Human Anatomy JUNIOR Notebooking Journal– Last year the Junior Notebooking Journal was a great fit, and I think it’s going to be again.  I’m planning on adding in the vocabulary questions we didn’t do last year.  I think this might be our last year using their notebooking journal, because I’m hoping by next year they can notebook completely on their own.

My body map– if you have the time to make it yourself, great idea

Body systems review game– quick and easy printable

Again, most of these posts are former Science Sunday link-ups, so I’m not spotlighting any particularly this week.  I’ve got a great batch for next week.

      You’re welcome! Jeff teased me because I accidentally hit publish and was yelling at the computer to stop as it went live a little bit early…….

    LOL!! I do THE SAME THING with those “publish” and “preview” buttons. I scrutinize them now before hitting either because I’ve accidentally switched them one or two times now. Thanks for this awesome list of resources though! It’s appreciated!

    We only did a term on anatomy but we loved it. So many fun hands-on (often edible) experiments, videos and of course the Magic School Bus books (& vids). Really looking forward to following your adventures.

    I feel like I”m barely seeing my kids this summer – it’s going to be quite nice when their friends go back to school and we can start doing fun science and linking up here again!
