I mentioned on Friday we got a new sink. And I love it. I went to empty the sink and reload the dishwasher and discovered this:
In case you can’t tell, that’s 3 inches of standing water in my dishwasher. So the time I had scheduled out today to write my post will probably be spent instead looking at new dishwashers or trying to figure out how to fix the old one.
We found out when we were toying with the idea of getting a new one a few months ago, dishwashers are intended to be used every other day. I just about fell on the floor laughing when I read that.
On a day where I bake and cook meals at home I’ve run the dishwasher 3 times. Thanksgiving it was 3 times that day with another couple of loads worth of dishes sitting on the counter that night.
So, I went around commented on everyone’s posts from last week, because I wanted to make sure that got done. Then I got dressed and got ready to look at dishwashers.
I’ll give you a hint of my upcoming post, can you guess what we studied?
Let’s see what others did this week:
Each week I’m spotlighting a few posts that were shared previously. Many posts get linked up later in the week and they don’t always get as many clicks as they deserve, so I’m trying to spotlight a few every week.

I’m a big fan of lessons that cross subjects, so when I saw this lesson that covered science and history, SCORE! Hey, Mommy Chocolate Milk! shared Native American Salt Sticks.

Every other day, lol…they must be joking. We just replaced our’s last year. I’ll have to say that I love the new styles…they seem to fit more dishes than the old one and the outside dimensions are the same. Good luck finding one!
I know, it was insane as I looked at them all. I was talking to a friend and she said her family of 3 does a load every day now that she’s homeschooling her daughter, but she was amused by that as well. I guess they’re counting on you eating out a lot.
I’m really looking forward to the new designs of dishwashers because they sure look like it fits more dishes.
Every other day sounds about right for my parents, but not for us. We eat a lot and have kids. We got a new one this year. I hope it lasts. We did everything by hand for a while.
Good luck finding a new dishwasher. I guess dishwashers’ rules are written for smaller families – we run ours twice a week if that.
I run mine at least once a day. We just bought a new one last January and I hate it. It’s a GE Profile – don’t recommend it at all. I want it to die so I can get a better one. Is that awful? Yes, it is, but it’s seriously the worst dishwasher ever. We also bought a GE Profile refrigerator at the same time and I hate that too. So, guess who will never buy GE products again!!!!!!!!!!!
