If you read my 2016 goals post you saw one of my homeschooling goals is to better organize our homeschool room. I recently found a great organization book I’m going to give a try and would love for you to join my organized homeschool challenge. I figure there’s confidence in numbers.

The goal of the organized homeschool challenge
By the end of the year to be in control of our homeschool, and not have the homeschool mess of 3 kids control our lives and our houses.
Right now I can’t say that. In reality what I can say is my homeschool room is a big mess that depresses me when I go in it. It doesn’t help that my homeschool room is also my sewing room. That’s two big mess makers combined together.
The tools of the organized homeschool challenge
I’ve got two main tools. The first is specifically for homeschoooling, and the other is more a general organizational book.

Tool 1:The Organized Homeschool Life by Dr. Melanie Wilson*
A friend of mine wrote this book, and I love that the challenges are simple and some I’ve already achieved. So my plan is to each month attempt to complete as many of the weekly challenges as I can. I’m not going to get them all done, but I can make progress.
This book is on sale until Monday January 4 for half off its’
Tool 2:Organizing Solutions for People with ADHD*
I bought this book a year or so ago and have been slowly implementing its’ tips in our house, and it’s been a lifesaver. Her tips on laundry have revolutionized our laundry system, and made it much better.
Do you want to join me?

I’d love to hear how you’re doing with organizing. I plan at the end of the month to post how I’m doing for accountability purposes. If I don’t do something public I’ll work on this for 2 weeks super focused and then by the end of January, I’ll have forgotten about it.
