Top 12 Posts for 2012

December 30, 2012 Ticia 1 Comment

top 12 posts for 2012I’ve loved seeing everyone’s Top 10 posts for the year, and I decided I needed to get off my lazy but and join the group.  My stats are a little skewed because I switched to WordPress part way through the year, so I’m going to choose one post from each month.  On New Year’s I’m going to choose my ABSOLUTE favorite from the year, so make sure to head back and check it all out!

gift to give

January: Great gift to give a kid– I loved that this uses their imagination to decorate their own dollhouse AND requires no batteries.  Just lots of time and love for the kiddo to decorate their own present.

10 Commandments heart

February: 10 Commandment heart– An excuse to eat lots of chocolate so I had a visual aid for teaching my kids about the 10 Commandments, yes please!

octopus change color

March: Why octopus change color-I love when a science lesson can lead to an art lesson.

Williamsburg

April- Happy Sigh, Colonial Williamsburg– I had a hard time choosing for April, but I loved our trip to Williamsburg, so this is it.

Lewis and Clark explore the park

May- Lewis and Clark: Explore the Park– We loved this activity to learn about Lewis and Clark.

How to make a book without staples

June- How to make a book with no staples– one of my most pinned posts.  It’s a great way to make books for writing.

boys baptism

July- My boys’ baptism– Another month that was hard to choose from, but I loved this post and my boys decision.

A Day in Our Homeschool Life

August- A Day in our homeschool life– because our life is so normal this is an ordinary day for us……

Adapting-Classic-texts-to-young-learners

September- How to adapt classic books for younger children– I love many classic books and want to pass on this love to my kiddos.  That means they’re going to listen to books with multi-syllable words.

what to do when you're spiritually empty

October- What to do When You’re Spiritually Empty– I think we’ve all had times when we just needed to step back and rethink our actions

Enoch walked with God info

November- Why do I care who Noah’s Grandpa is?- I’ve grown to appreciate genealogies in the Bible (I don’t love them, but I appreciate them), and this is how I taught my kids about this.

092

December- Make a toy stable and manger– This is the final one in my toy Bethelehem series, and it was easily the biggest hit with my kids
