What to do with leftover turkey?

It is the day after Thanksgiving here in America.  Our refrigerators are full of leftovers.  We are now left with the question of what to do with the leftover turkey?  Here’s the quick recipe I came up with from the random odds and ends in my refrigerator.  You probably have this in your frig as well.

Here’s what I used this time: cream, leftover turkey, parmesan, pasta

This picture is ugly. I wish I was better at food photography, I’ve got a book to help on that, but so far I’ve read the introduction. So, this leftover turkey recipe is ugly. I’m sorry.

First cook your pasta.  Once your pasta is cooked, dump in a cup or two of cream, if you don’t have cream you can use milk, but cream makes a better sauce.  Then dump in your turkey.

All right, it’s about to get super hard, now you get to make a few decisions.  What spices do you want to add?  We tend to add in lots of garlic (in our house we joke this is vampire proofing).  Then, I’ll add some oregano or basil.  There’s a bit of an Italian fare, but it’s popular.

Batman likes to add crushed red pepper and rosemary after the garlic.  It really is flexible.

Stir that together for a bit, so your turkey isn’t all clumped up.

Now pour in your cheese.  I buy these big huge tubs of Parmesan cheese, and we go through about one of these a month.  At least.  It has created lots of empty plastic tubs to store toys in.

Dump your pasta back in, and stir it into your food.  You are now ready to eat your leftover turkey.

  1. This is a nice recipe. We just ate our leftover turkey cold for lunch by wrapping meat in romaine lettuce salad leaves. It was healthy and filling too.

    1. Oh that sounds yummy! We always buy ridiculously huge turkeys to be able to have lots of leftovers.
