Easy Mess Free French Toast
When my boys were three we took a short-lived cooking class another mom friend offered. There I learned the most delicious french toast recipe ever. It also has the added bonus of no mess.
No mess is important when you have three kids within 21 months of each other. Anything that cuts down on the sticky factor is a life saver.
Mess Free French Toast ingredients:

bread, eggs, powdered sugar, syrup, vanilla (or other flavorings, when I made it again tonight I added vanilla and cinnamon)

Super detailed step by step construction of this unbelievably easy french toast recipe
Step 1: Crack 4 eggs into a shallow dish* (I made a double batch, so 8, also I love this pyrex dish, we used it to take this recipe camping, and nothing spilled in our messily packed cooler), add about 1-2 teaspoons of vanilla. Or if you’re me, just pour in some amount that looks good.
Step 2: Beat the eggs pretty thoroughly.
Step 3: Add about 1/4 cup of powdered sugar. If you want it sweeter, then add more. Beat it in. Or, after you’ve made it a couple dozen times pour in some amount that looks roughly 1/4 cup.
Step 4: Add 3 tablespoons of syrup. Beat it in. These are not exact measurements, my kind of recipe.
Step 5: Grill it up. We have this amazing electric skillet* that fits 8 pieces of bread at once. Yes I do cook this in batches that take up two loaves of bread.
Step 6: Eat enjoy.
Step 6b: When putting away the eggs drop them, cracking about half of the eggs left in my carton of 36 eggs. I now am making scrambled eggs as well and mopping the floor.
Sigh, no picture of the happy faces as people eat them, instead there was much cleaning and grumbling as I cook scrambled eggs. Poor Ticia.

(Update from future Ticia who was adding in prettier pictures of one of my favorite recipes, now my kids pretty much cook this all by themselves at 11 and 9 years old, so when I say it’s an easy recipe, I really do mean that)

This sounds delicious! Too bad about the eggs.
This looks SO good! My kids love french toast. 🙂 You are more than welcome to link it up with my “Try a New Recipe Tuesday” if you'd like. 🙂 Hope you have a blessed Easter!
Anna loves French toast too, but we use a different recipe that adds milk and doesn't add so much sweet stuff. I am almost afraid to let her taste real French toast 🙂
Poor Ticia! But the French toast looks really good 🙂
Okay – just whipped up a batch for dinner – the kids gave it a thumbs up!
